Overview: Under general supervision, performs all routine and special diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures.  Provides patients with safe, courteous and efficient care. Assists in other sections of the department as needed.


Schedule:
Gunderson – Averages 24 hours - Every Thursday and Friday from 12pm until 8:30pm, and every other weekend, from 8am until 4:30pm.
Smokey Point - Averages 16 hours a week, Saturday and Sunday from 8am until 4:30pm (more hours available as needed for fill-in during the week)



The initial training period may require full time availability. Please ensure you are available to attend training before applying to this position. Sites vary in their hours of operation. As a result, a teammate may be required to work on holidays, weekends, evenings, or night shifts. Additionally, factors such as workload and patient needs may require variations in work schedules, job assignments, and number of hours worked.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Noted below are the essential responsibilities the job holder must be able to perform satisfactorily to do this job successfully. Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job

Knowledge: Knowledge of diagnostic MRI procedures. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area for MRI imaging.  Knowledge of imaging equipment and testing.  Knowledge of use of pressure injection. Knowledge of safety hazards common to MRI  including magnetic field and equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.


Skills: Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging.  Skill in training student technologists and co-workers in equipment operation and procedures.  Skill in trouble shooting equipment operation and performing simple adjustments.  Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.


Abilities: Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices.  Ability to identify problems.  Ability to communicate clearly.


 


Education: High School Diploma, or GED; completion of a course in imaging technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.


Experience: One or more years of experience preferred.


Certificate/License: Current Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification in Washington State; Radiologic Technologist registry by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); advanced ARRT-MR advanced certification required within one year of hire.
