SALARY:          LVN: $25.00 - $28.12 to start, DOE

                          Medical Assistant: $20.03 - $22.53 to start, DOE


The Health Services Coordinator is responsible for the administration and daily operation of the Health Services department, including coordinating, supervising and monitoring physical health care for the youth who reside at SCH, overseeing the delivery of medication for the youth, the communication and assessment of health/medical needs of the youth and ensuring they receive the highest quality care. This position acts as a liaison between staff and medical and psychiatric providers, oversees medical and pharmaceutical billing, completes documentation and contacts insurance companies, prescribers, pharmacies and the Accounting department as needed, expedites records and reports for court, hospitals, and medical and mental health providers following HIPPA guidelines. This position comes in contact with confidential information, and as such, must maintain the program and Agency’s standard of strict confidentiality. This position reports to the Director of Child and Family Programs and supervises a Medical Support Aide.


SCH will consider either a LVN or Medical Assistant for this position. Applicable salary range is based on LVN or Medical Assistant status.


Licensed Vocational Nurse Qualifications:

¨     Proof of licensure by the State of California as a LVN is required.

¨     Minimum of two years of experience working in a medical office as a Medical Assistant or LVN is required. 

¨     One year of prior supervisory experience is preferred.

¨     Previous experience working with pediatric health issues and psychotropic medication is preferred.


Medical Assistant Qualifications:

¨     Technical certification as a Medical Assistant is required.

¨     Minimum of three years of experience working in a medical office as a Medical Assistant is required. 

¨     One year of prior supervisory experience is preferred.

¨     Previous experience working with pediatric health issues and psychotropic medication is preferred.


Driving is an essential function of this job. Employee will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. Must have a valid driver’s license and minimum CA insurance coverage.
