PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE


Located primarily within the Las Vegas Medical District, the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV graduated its first class of students in May of 2021. Fully accredited, the school currently has 240 medical students, 150 faculty physicians, and more than 300 medical residents and fellows. With a new medical education building opening in 2022, including state-of-the-art medical classrooms and a simulation center, the school continues to grow.


 


As one of the most diverse medical schools in the nation, our graduates have been accepted to prestigious residency and fellowship programs throughout the country. Our faculty, students, residents, and fellows have had their research published in peer-reviewed journals that range from the American Journal of Surgery to Cancer Cytopathology.

ROLE of the POSITION


The Director of Talent Acquisition and On-Boarding provides leadership and direction to team focused on driving hiring initiatives, strategies and execution of staffing plans. Responsible for the talent acquisition and on-boarding of all staff, UNLV KSOM Physicians, academic and administrative faculty, classified and other positions. The Director will build relationships and build talent pipelines to be proactive for business growth. The Director will develop strategic talent acquisition and retention plans to support changing business needs while supporting the KSOM’s mission, vision, financial, and clinical goals. The Director provides leadership in the implementation of provider services objectives to align with the organizational goals and business strategies in order to successfully attract and retain providers.


 


The Director will create processes, procedures, and policies related to the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of employees. The position successfully leads and works on teams to strategically plan for the growth of divisions, new clinic locations, and acquisitions of existing physician practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 3 years’ experience working in a medical school environment, 5 years minimum experience working in a practice plan or healthcare environment, and advanced knowledge of physician recruiting. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Salary is competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. The position is contingent upon funding.
