Indiana University Bloomington
Medical Director, Student Health Center
Indiana University Bloomington (IU) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking clinician and administrative leader to serve as the next Medical Director for the Student Health Center—a busy ambulatory care operation supporting the health, wellbeing, and success of a community of over 47,000 students through a wide variety of medical services. Within this robust integrated care setting, the Medical Director leads a highly collaborative clinical team and provides oversight and direction for all medical services, including the Medical Clinic, Acute Care Service, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Acute Eye Clinic, and Travel and Immunizations Clinic.
In addition to providing direct clinical care, the Medical Director serves primarily in an administrative and managerial capacity—working with and supporting department managers in each of these service areas around personnel decisions, problem solving, goal setting, clinical workflow, and collaborative care. The Medical Director serves as a key member of the Student Health Center’s senior leadership team and contributes to the overall operational and strategic goals of the Center. Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Health and Wellness, the Medical Director’s reach extends beyond the Student Health Center and into the broader campus community, including representation on University-wide committees focused on student and campus health. This is a compelling opportunity to make a valuable impact on student health and wellbeing at a major research institution.
